Jet Li must protect a young woman who has recently witnessed a murder by a dangerous member of the reason why this movie is just okay in my opinion is because of the attrotious first half of the film. In the first half, the characters are all annoying and unlikable, the movie is tonally inconsistent and the film didn't seem to have a sense of direction. It seemed just like another generically bad action movie. However, the second half was far better. The characters became more complex, less annoying and more interesting, the film stuck to a tone and, with the introduction of the villain,… Better than Costner’s The Bodyguard 1992 but the English dubbing is distractingly bad! The lightning-fast fight sequences make up for a lot of it, though.
